Everything that's not organic is man made, and has
been
designed. Design is an exercise that uses both sides of the
brain: the right side must determine the right "feel" using
both emotional and factual information gathered
through various channels. The left side of the brain
is in charge of practical considerations such as budget
matters, production challenges, writing and co-ordination
between other individuals who are involved in the
development and production.
Unless
the aimed-for communication is noticed,
understood and acted upon by the target market;
unless the problem has been analysed, defined and
resolved to ensure appropriateness; unless the
design fits into its wider visual ecology, in which it
will be seen and used; unless all these things come
together it cannot be good design.
At
RobRae D&PM
these are the considerations we aspire to!
